Maui Love

Mikey and I had planned to celebrate the end of medical school in the best way possible, a trip to Maui!    After four years of incredibly hard work, Mikey completed all his requirements to receive his MD.  This family of 3 headed on a plane across the ocean.

Isaiah enjoyed the beach and playing with the sand toys.

When he got tired he put his head down in the soft sand :)  A nice pillow for him!

We walked around the Grand Wailia.

Took evening strolls to the nearby town.

Did the road to Hana!  And continued to go all the way around the island.  Wow, I did'nt think it would be possible but it turned out to be the best day!

We saw some beautiful sites.

Mikey walked into a cave with Isaiah.

We enjoyed the sunset while having dinner in Lahina.

Many hours were spent at the beach.  We managed to go to two different beaches a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  We had to see everything!

Hula Pie!!

A typical Isaiah face while being pushed in the stroller.

One day we went up to the northern most point of Maui.

Enjoyed Kapula Bay.

The BEST snorkeling!! I mean look at that water!

Baby Beach = no waves

The same beach and restaurant where Mikey proposed, 4 1/2 years ago!

Sunscreen baby....

Before we flew back on Sunday, we squeezed in one more beach stop.

Secret beach, the most perfect beach cove... the only ones there!

Till next time Maui!

I is for Isaiah #9

Isaiah you are nine months old!  So much has happened this month!  Let's start with your daily routine.  You wake up around 7:00 am, have breakfast of oatmeal and fruit. On May 1st, you started crawling for the first time! Before that you would roll all over and go backwards but now you can go forwards!  You love to pull yourself up on the coffee table and pull anything that is on it off.  You can get to the curtains and cords in no time.  You open drawers and pull down books. Basically, everything around your toys you like.  We are training you to stay on the carpet but that will take sometime :)

Your first nap of the day is at 9:00.  You usually sleep for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.  Then we get up and go somewhere, come back for lunch and then you nap again at 1:00.  You love your jump up.  We push you in it like a swing and you go crazy!  You love crawling on the bathroom floor and around our bedroom.

Currently our house is in a state of complete disaster getting ready for our move.  Most of your nursery is packed away, pictures taken down. In your 10 month pictures you will be in your new room, in your new state! Wow... you will travel far.

You are also learning how to feed yourself.  You will eat most of anything I give you.  Your have TWO bottom teeth and are currently working on getting the two top teeth out.  They don't seem to bother you too much, besides a couple of out of no where screams.

Since you are crawling everywhere now, our house is the perfect playground.  Not really though.  If I am in the kitchen, I will call your name and you will crawl to me with a smile on your face! You weigh 20 pounds and are 29 inches in length.  You are currently wearing size 9 month clothes and 12-18 month clothes.  I still use size 3 diapers, but size 4 could replace them soon.

BIG things are coming this month! Hawaii! Medical school Graduation! Moving across the country!!!!    Hold on to your diaper Isaiah!

I is for Isaiah #8

My sweet Isaiah boy you are a big 8 months old!!  You are babbling and talking most of the day.  You have been making this squish face a lot.. and a cheesy smile grin.

You are now mobile.  You are rolling all over, scooting backwards, and sort of crawling.  It won't be long before you are on all fours!  You love playing with your toys but some how you always find your way to the curtains and the air conditioner cord. No Isaiah, you may not touch those :)

You are eating three meals a day.  You love pretty much anything, still haven't figured out how to put it in your mouth so I feed you.  It is much cleaner that way anyways.  Still no teeth.

Right before you hit 7 months I stopped swaddling you.  Just did it cold turkey because you would usually break out of it.  It didn't seem to phase you, just kept on sleeping!  Your bedtime is 6:00 and you wake up at 7:00.  (that's 13 hours!)  You take between 2 and 3 naps a day.  Just depends what we are doing.

You love sitting up nice and straight in your stroller.  Where ever we go, you look around with amazement.  Books continue to be a favorite as well as your blocks and random toys.

You celebrated your first Easter, found out your moving to NC, and have started packing up your nursery!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter weekend.  We gave Isaiah his Easter basket on Saturday morning. (Just like my parents did to us)  It was filled with empty plastic eggs which he loved, two bath books, and a Precious Moments Easter bible.  Mikey and I have both noticed how much he loves books and when we read to him.

Here he is discovering his eggs.  I also got him that play table in the background.  I  priced matched from kmart and used two coupons to get it for 1.59!  Regularly 55.00.... I think that's a great deal!

Already testing out the keys.... our little music lover!

Easter morning I made, "Jesus Rose From the Tomb."  We had this a lot growing up, it's in the Friesen Family Cookbook... apparently a lot of other people do it too :)  (Forgive my terrible handwriting, nothing I write on chalkboard will look like any pinterest ideas)

We had a wonderful time at church.  Isaiah enjoyed playing with all his friends in the nursery .

After church we drove over to my parent's house.  Isaiah had another Easter basket waiting for him.

He loved his first chocolate bunny and book of prayers.

My mom made a wonderful Easter dinner!

Two of my friends from Loma Linda came over, along with Sarah and  her roommate.

Isaiah the ladies man

Missing the Northern Millers and East Coast Miller :)
