I love Dr. Brown!

Since Mikey is in medical school they require that all students were scrubs all the time. Just kidding. He actually only wears them for anatomy lab. He was very excited to get them though, I think he already looks like a doctor but he has a couple more years to go. While he is in school I guard our house. I make sure everything is running smoothly on the home front. So far my sewing is on pause because I can't figure out how to thread it, but I picked out a really nice pattern. I am hoping to have it done to wear to an interview, as of now I still have some time.

Spectacular Sins

Book recommendation of the week: Spectacular Sins by John Piper

"As a pastor, I do not think it is my job to entertain you during the last days. It is not my calling to help you have chipper feelings while the whole creation groans. My job is to put the kind of ballast in the belly of your boat so that when these waves crash against your life, you will not capsize but make it to the harbor of heaven- battered and wounded, but full of faith and joy."

I am going to delete this blog. If you read it let me know. I believe I am just going to do the Christmas newsletter instead:)

Slow Cooking My Life Away

Mikey is now well into his third week of medical school and studying a lot. We are happy in our little home, I enjoy looking out the window. I am tutoring a couple of hours a day and still praying about a teaching job. In the meantime I have kept a clean house, baked, current on the news, and now enjoying our new slow cooker. This is my second meal with it and I already love just putting stuff inside it and letting it cook all day. I am also awaiting my sewing machine which will open up all sorts of adventures. I need a job to buy fabric and once I get one I will pick out patterns for my new fall/winter line. No more buying pre made clothes. I may be speaking to soon but I have hope, I will at least be able to decorate my house...

Pink Kitchen!

I love my pink kitchen aid mixer! Today was the first of many baking adventures that I will have and she succeeded! I decided to make my classic chocolate chip cookies which turned out to be a big success. The job hunt is taking longer then I thought so you might find me selling lemonade and cookies on the corner of our street!

White Dress to White Coat

We are finally settled in our new home and just now catching our breath! Mikey has started school (again) and he loves it. He already has his doctor's coat and instruments so he can start practicing! I am making myself familiar with the area and in search of a job. Here are some pictures of our life so far!
Honeymoon in Cancun... My new last name!
Visiting Santa Barbara and seeing Matthew...

Jacq's wedding...
Our first home in Denver....putting our plates away....
Packing up our things and leaving Denver....
White coat ceremony and new friends....
Loma Linda here we are! It was a little crazy to get here but God has richly blessed us through the process and we love our new home!
