Purple and Green

Katelyn and I hosted a shower for Lisa this past weekend. She is getting married in June. Her colors are purple (eggplant and green). We had so much fun putting it together!

Valentine's Tea Party

Nothing that I love better then planning a wonderful, girly, tea party!

Cupcakes

Shortbread cookies

Strawberries and grapes

And Tea!

The girls from my Bible study (all married to husbands who are in medical school) came over for afternoon tea. I loved setting the table and preparing the food. Now I have the daunting task of cleaning everything up :( All in a days work!

Precious Moments

I don't know why, but I have always loved anything "Precious Moments." Maybe it was all the coloring books and figurines I received growing up, but I treasure them to this day.

Since it is February, I can officially start decorating and planning for Valentine's Day (actually my heart wreaths were up Jan. 1st). I just LOVE Valentine's Day so much! Any excuse to make something heart shaped, I will do it! This year I am planning a Valentine's Day Tea party and I can't wait! The menu and place settings have been planned for a couple days now (maybe weeks?). Stay tuned for pictures....

Oh (Brother)...

We are both working very hard!

I recently completed a baby blanket for my dear friend Christie. It was quite easy and fun. I had a great time sewing and picking out a fabric print for baby James.

The second project was my last name BROWN. It took a while to complete this because some of the letters had been out of stock for a while at jo anns. I put together different pieces of fabric to add color to the wall.

USA

We had quite the weekend! On Friday we sent alpine sledding with the Jr. High group from our church. We took a looong drive up to Big Bear to the glorious snow! There was not a lot of snow but that didn't matter! We had a great time sledding down the hill on inner tubes. Saturday we drove with Matthew and Sarah to Carson, LA for the USA vs. Chile soccer game. It was crazy! I was not really looking forward to it at all but it turned out to be a fun evening. We marched over to the stadium with 30+ Westmont friends and hundreds of loyal fans.

After we celebrated Christmas as a family, we had our pictures taken. They turned out great and will be wonderful memories.

Mikey is now in the second half of second year of medical school. He is studying very hard. June 1st he takes step one of the boards. This is a very big test, not the kind of test you study for the night before :) I am teaching and tutoring. I enjoy spending time with friends and helping out at church. We love our Bible study and being apart of the jr. high ministry. This spring we are looking forward to: A trip to Washington!! (just me, not Mikey), visiting Mikey's family in Tennessee, finishing second year of med school, and hopefully going somewhere for a break :)
