Lucy Ann Month 5

Lucy you are five months and I have to say, I am starting to see a sibling resemblance :)  This week you have really discovered your voice and have done some yelling!  After I took your pictures today, you were making the loudest noises, you weren't upset....just wanting to be heard.  In fact several sounds you make sound like Isaiah :)

You are still taking three naps a day and going to bed at 6:30 with a wake up time between 7-7:30.  You wake up once or twice a night, hoping to get down to one then none?

You are smiling and laughing.  Isaiah absolutely adores you, giving you hugs and kisses all day!  He tells me what clothes are yours, what bottles are yours, and so on... "sissy's bottle, sissy's shirt)

You are wearing six month clothes and size two diapers. At your fourth month app you weighed 13 pounds, so I am guessing you are just over that now.

You have good neck control and are working on sitting up by yourself, still not stable.  You can roll over though.

I stopped swaddling your arms a couple weeks ago and you love putting your fingers in your mouth.  You also love grabbing your toes.

You actually like the exersaucer now and I can put you in it to play! Isaiah is getting much better about sharing this toy with you, even though he is obviously too big for it!

This past month you had a big weekend trip to D.C. to see your Uncle Matt and Grandma Miller came to visit.  Boy do we love when we see family!

We love you Lucy girl!

Swim lessons

Isaiah had his first swim lessons last week. It was a transitional class, so the first day the parent was in the water with the child, second day the parent sat on the ledge, and the rest of the days the children were expected to sit on the ledge with the parents sitting on the bench. Did it play out this way? Sorta... Isaiah had difficulty sitting still. He sat for a little but then wanted to get up and come to momma. He also fell in once which scared him. The instructor did tell me at the end of the week they were going to adjust the age levels for this class... Haha

First Flight for Lucy

Last week we flew to Denver to celebrate Mikey's youngest brother graduating from college.  The first day that we were there we went to the Denver Zoo.  Isaiah enjoyed seeing most of the animals, especially the birds.

Lucy enjoyed the zoo too!

An outdoor mall area had a splash pad and Isaiah loved playing in the water, and it was cold that morning, but he didn't care!

This was the first time that Grandpa Brown had seen Lucy.

Isaiah played with Mikey's old train set at the house.

We were able to get some good family pictures!

This was graduation day, even though I didn't go to the ceremony.  We just dressed like we did :)  (Mikey went)

They both did so well on the plane ride, strapping Isaiah into his car seat worked miracles!

oh yeah, and we ate at Snooze two days in a row! We were in breakfast heaven!

Lucy Ann Month 4

Miss Lucy you are growing before our eyes!  Just today I got out your six month clothes!  I noticed that your three month sleepers were a bit tight and then I discovered that you could actually wear the next size up.  You are also in size 2 diapers.  I am not sure of your weight, but will update this post after your four month appointment next week.

This month you have discovered more of your voice.  You can also sit up in your bumbo for short amounts of time.  I think you prefer to sit straight up, because you don't really like your swing.  Every time I put you in your bumbo or tummy time device, your brother gets so mad!  He wants to play with them, so we practice sharing.

You traveled to Denver for the first time and met the rest of your family.  You did very well on the plan ride.  Adjusting to the time change was a different story though :)  You go to bed around 6:30 and wake up around 7:00.  You are taking about 3 naps a day.  You don't like being in a stopped car or hot weather.  You also get very mad when it gets past your bedtime or right before we sit down to eat dinner.  Isaiah loves you though, when he wakes up in the morning he goes right to your door and says "shhhh."  He also gives you kisses and hugs.  We only had a few harmful incidences this month with his "playing."

We love you Lucy and love seeing your sweet personality come out each day!

The Backyard and Mosquitos

The weather is getting hot hot hot here! We love our big backyard but it's hard to stay out long when you are sweating.... So Mikey and I had been trying to come up with some cost effective ways to create shade.  A gazebo would have been nice but they are too expensive, so we ordered a 30.00 triangle shade tarp thing off amazon. It's great! And a little tacky but that's just typical Brown style :) Isaiah could play outside all day if I let him.... He loves playing with the water and wandering around the yard. Lucy doesn't really like the hot weather so we try to play when she is napping. Here are some recent pics of Isaiah playing with his friends. They all happen to be fellow emergency medicine resident families and Isaiah's best buddies.

Last Sunday Lucy wore one of my old dresses to church..... Both at 3 months.

Lucy Ann Month 3

Lucy you are three months!  You are coming out of the official newborn stage and entering full fledged babyhood.  Though you are still my petite girl! You are wearing size 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers.  Guess what you won? A year's supply of diapers from huggies!  I didn't think I would really get them, but when we got back from our big trip, 30 boxes were waiting for us!

You are sleeping pretty good... You were only waking up once at night, but this week you started waking up twice or three times do to various problems (arms out, threw up, and so on) Hopefully you will get back to your 10 hour stretches! You take about four naps per day.  When you are awake you like to be held or placed next to your brother.   Isaiah loves to give you kisses now and will often try to share his toys with you.

You go to bed at 6:30ish, same time as Isaiah, which is so nice!  You listen to Isaiah's bedtime stories and songs.  You wake up happy most times, talking and babbling. You can't lift your head up very well, so I guess you need more tummy time!

During this month you met all your Miller relatives at the outer banks! This was also your first trip to the beach and you seemed to enjoy it :) Next month you will get to meet the other side of your family in Denver :) We love you!

And it's Mother's Day today... I love being a mom to you and Isaiah :)
