Anticipating 2013 (or maybe just March)

As I picked up Mikey from the airport this week, I said just one more interview! We are finishing the interview trail (as med people like to call it) in Denver next week.  I am looking forward to putting our suitcases away for a while.... even though I do like travel.  We really have it down to an art now....  This past week the urology match happened and two of our friends found out where they are going.  This just pumped up the rest of the fourth years and their wives...  We just have to wait till March 15!!!  I know it will come soon but part of me just wants to wait in bed till then... I know that's weird.  When in your life to you get to open an envelope that tells you where you will be living?  Who thought of this anyways?  The anticipation can really get to a person but I am excited.  Right now I can look at all the possibilities... come March 15, all the possibilities will be gone and we will be given ONE place to go.....

Besides medical school stuff..... we have enjoyed quality family time together.  Bible study and TMOMS started back up this week, which is always a highlight.  Isaiah is now 5 and half months... quickly approaching 6 months!  He has a bad cough and I am hoping it goes away soon.  I am in the midst of planning Mikey's HUGE graduation party!!!  (if you want to come, leave a comment below)  We are really going to celebrate that weekend, let me tell you!

Baby's First Foods

Isaiah is now enjoying rice cereal and peas!  Well, I guess enjoying is not the right word.  We started solid foods about two weeks ago.  Tomorrow I am going to try carrots.... maybe he will like those more.  He did reach for my coke but I am not ready to introduce that to him yet..... :)

Baby Mickey

Saturday was the big day!  We started our Disneyland experience by first running through the park.  Sarah and I ran the Disneyland 5k at 5:45 in the morning!  The shuttle picked us up at 4:30 am and we ran with thousands of other people.  I was able to finish and run for most of the time.  It would have helped if I had trained..... next time!

Baby Isaiah in his Mickey outfit!!

The cutest baby in the park

Of course we had to get him his first pair of Mickey Ears!

He couldn't wait to get his paws on them!

Family Ears!

Sarah was with is and it was great! We were able to take turns on the  rides, get fast passes, and run ourselves to the ground!

Walking down main street.... It was 80 degrees!

Aunt Sarah with her little mouse.  We enjoyed the lovely Monte Cristo sandwich for lunch.

Flying baby mouse!

Isaiah enjoyed going on many rides.  This was midway mania... I could barely stand at this point... but we managed to stay late with a happy baby!  Can't wait to go again!

P.S. I did learn how to navigate Disneyland with a baby.... While part of your party goes on a ride, the other part will get a switch pass and can go to the front of the line when they return.  2 guests are included in this.  Also, Disneyland and California Adventure both have baby care centers.  There are private nursing rooms and changing tables that are very clean.  The ladies that work their are so nice and they have all the baby necessities if you forget anything.  They also give out free juice to the kids.  I recommend bringing both a stroller and a baby carrier, because you can't push the stroller in line.... and a twenty pound baby gets heavy after a while!

Big City Part Two

I was privileged to accompany Mikey on his Chicago interview trip.  The real reason I wanted to come was to visit my friend Lisa.  Lisa and Jared moved to the city six months ago from my hometown of Woodinville. I couldn't wait for the chance to spend time with her!

Lisa took us all around the city.  We walked to the Bean....

Then we walked down Michagan Avenue... looking at all the shops and city sights.

We went to the top of Hancock tower and enjoyed a view of the whole city!

We also went to the aquarium and showed Isaiah all the different water creatures.

We had the best time in Illinois.... who knows, we could be back!

I is for Isaiah #5

My sweet Isaiah boy you are 5 months today!

We love you more everyday.  When I put you to sleep at night I just can't wait till the next day to see you! (We often peek in on you though!)

This month you traveled back to Denver to celebrate your first Christmas! You did a great job on the plane.  We are becoming pretty good at traveling with you, though its never quite relaxing :)

You love playing in your exersauser.  You have figured out how to play the music and will hit it pretty hard.  We still put you in your swing when you get tired, it really saves us sometimes.

You have rolled over a couple times.  You prefer to go back to stomach.  We fed you your first solids two days ago.  Most of it came out but the second try you opened up your mouth for the spoon!

You are still taking 3 naps a day.  Your bedtime is 6:00 and you wake up at 7:30.
You are going longer in between feedings.  You love when we take you out on walks and to the store.

Your favorite toy is Scout! You listen to him when we change your diaper.

You love love love your daddy! He plays with you and you smile so big!

Isaiah you put your toes in your mouth for the first time and love grabbing them.

You are wearing 6 month to 9 month clothes and size 2 diapers.

Happy New Year

We spent New Year's Day hanging out with Mikey's friends from Westmont.  There were about 20 people there and it was funny to see some of them with Isaiah.

They all played a soccer game while we watched....

This New Year we are reading through the Bible together and starting a healthy meal plan/ exercise routine! Yikes! (oh and I am running a 5k in two weeks.. two weeks to train)

Merry White Christmas!

Family shot in Beaver Creek

Getting ready to go to the Christmas Eve Service

Isaiah loved playing with the crinkly candy cane

We woke up on Christmas day to snow! So of course we put Isaiah in a sleigh!

The snow makes everything look so pretty!

Reaching for his gift.

Amazed with the bow!

Boys being boys... notice Mikey is putting together his lego set... What?

Made it back to Cali in time to see Sarah and

Matthew!
